  1. Technologies/methodology/Discoveries-

i). First Reports of 04 New Plant Diseases in India

Contributed to the discovery of four new plant diseases in India:

  • Root Rot Disease in Green Gram caused by Ectophoma multirostrata.
  • Leaf Spot of Maize caused by Curvularia geniculata.
  • Leaf Spot of Maize caused by Curvularia verruculosa.
  • Black Rot Disease Incited by Indian Race 1 of Xanthomonas campestris campestris in Brassica juncea ‘Pusa Bold’ in India

ii). Technology Developed and Certified by ICAR in 2024- Designed a low-cost volatile collection assembly to study volatile compounds in plant-microbe interactions. This innovation provides a practical tool for researchers and students to better understand host-pathogen dynamics.

iii). Development of Diagnostic Markers- Created 55 microsatellite diagnostic markers for studying genetic variability of Bipolaris sorokiniana, a fungal pathogen. This advancement aids in the precise identification and management of this pathogen in crops.

iv). Artificial Intelligence for Disease Detection- Developed AI-based deep learning models (e.g., GoogleNet, Inception V3) for detecting leaf blight in wheat with more than 90% accuracy

v). Submitted 250+ agriculturally important microbial germplasm to NAIMCC and more than 750 Gene sequences submitted to GenBank’s.
